Tom Kessler
Founder/President

tom_kessler.jpgTom Kessler is a seasoned media executive with experience in large, global corporations requiring cross-divisional cooperation, as well as start-ups and entrepreneurial ventures requiring flexibility and rapid iteration. He has served in key editorial roles at broadcast.com (editor and publisher) and AOL (national editorial director of AOL Local and director/GM of Video@AOL). Tom was responsible for the Yahoo! Broadcast website and the integration of audio and video assets across the Yahoo! network. He began his career in newspapers, including The Dallas Morning News and The Houston Post.

Barbara Kessler
Editor

barbara_kessler.jpgBarbara has been covering green news for the past three and a half years, and has been a lifelong advocate of chemical-free living. She previously covered child welfare and safety, and urban and suburban development at The Dallas Morning News, where she worked for 13 years. She worked in other newspaper and TV newsrooms in the Midwest and South since graduating from Northwestern University. Her hobbies include organic gardening, vegetarian cooking and photography. She also volunteers on her school district’s nutrition committee.

Bill Sullivan
Managing Editor

Bill has more than 30 years experience in print and online journalism, the last 10 as an Internet content writer, editor and producer. He worked for Yahoo! and as a contractor for America Online. Bill also spent 5 1/2 years at an Internet company that promoted computer literacy and job training for single mothers on welfare. Earlier in his career, he was a sports writer for The Austin American-Statesman, San Jose Mercury News and Houston Chronicle, where he specialized in major college and Olympic sports. Bill graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in history.

Steven Rahn
IT and Web Development

Steven started building commercial websites in 1996. As a freelancer in Tucson, Arizona, he designed and implemented websites on contract for organizations like IBM, Walbro, Masterduct, and the University of Arizona. Steven started his own web development company called Vizant Group LLC in 2003. While running Vizant Group he built many websites, custom content management systems, inventory management systems, and e-commerce solutions for his clients. Steven graduated from The University of Oklahoma with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

Bob Shema
Contributing Creative Director

Bob began his design studio, Design Block Zero, in Dallas in 1989, where his clients have included Sony Playstation, IBM, American Airlines, Acura, JCPenney, Hyatt Hotels, Hilton Hotels and Pepsi. He co-founded the multimedia/ interactive company Wavebase 9, where he designed the Internet sites for The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Bob also served as Senior Art Director at Fossil, Inc., and for 6 years designed the Fashion!Dallas section of The Dallas Morning News. For 5 years, Bob taught a course in package design at the University of North Texas. He holds a degree in Communication Design from Kutztown University in Pennsylvania.
